Grey Bruce Public Health has issued an alert after being notified of three suspected overdoses since the start of the week.
According to the Health Unit, the overdoses occurred in Owen Sound and Chatsworth on Monday and Tuesday. Fentanyl was the suspected substance in two of the cases, while the third case remains unknown.
GBPH is asking the public to encourage all people who use drugs to have naloxone on hand. It is also recommended to always have a sober friend with them who can administer naloxone and call 911 in case of an overdose.
Naloxone is available at pharmacies and participating community partners, and at Grey Bruce Public Health, Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. No appointment is needed.
People can also get drugs tested by calling SOS at 519-379-8743.
