Charges have been laid after Huron OPP found a weapon and illegal drugs inside a vehicle stuck in deep snow in Ashfield-Colborne-Wawanosh Township.
According to police, officers were called about two stranded vehicles on South Street early on the morning of December 17. A search of one of the vehicles turned up a crossbow, suspected cocaine, and break-in tools.
The driver was found nearby and arrested, police said.
A 31-year-old woman of no fixed address is charged with possession of a firearm contrary to prohibition order, possession of break-in instruments, and possession of drugs. She is additionally charged with three offences under the Highway Traffic Act and Liquor Licence Control Act.
The woman has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Goderich court in relation to the charges on January 2.
