Stratford Police seeking male seen carrying handgun

Stratford Police Service is continuing to search for a man who was allegedly seen carrying a handgun on Thursday afternoon.

According to Stratford Police, officers were called at 12:31 p.m. on Thursday regarding a report of a man seen carrying a black handgun in the area of 619 Devon Street in Stratford. Perth County OPP also responded to the call.

The male was described as a White man wearing blue Nike jogging pants that were tight at the ankle and a beige camouflage hoodie with headphones around his neck. The suspect was seen walking east along the north side of Devon Street prior to the call coming in.

Police closed off the area to traffic and conducted a thorough search of the area, but the man was not located. The area was reopened around 2:30 p.m.

Stratford Police are asking anyone near Devon Street, C.H. Meier Boulevard, and the immediate area to check possible surveillance footage that could potentially help locate or identify the suspect. Anyone with any information should contact Stratford Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
