Bruce County Library report highlights growth in 2025

The Bruce County Public Library is highlighting a year of growth and community engagement with the release of its 2025 annual report.

The library system delivered more than 2,100 programs and welcomed nearly 22,000 participants over the past year. In a message included in the report, Board Chair Mark Goetz said the results reflect "another year of growth and community," adding the library remains focused on "creating welcoming spaces and expanding access to resources."

A major update in 2025 was the launch of a redesigned website aimed at improving accessibility and making it easier for residents to browse collections and register for programs.

The report also points to strong interest in community programming, including Black History Month events, a speaker series tied to The Great Canadian Baking Show, and a Truth and Reconciliation session exploring Saugeen Ojibway Nation treaties.

Library officials say the system continues to evolve beyond traditional services. In the report, staff note that "our libraries are more than buildings with books, we are gathering places where stories, people, and possibilities meet."

Investment in local branches also continued, with upgrades in Kincardine and Tara, expanded early literacy collections, and new technology such as 3D printers and Cricut machines added across the county.

Overall, the library recorded more than 224,000 visits and over 336,000 items borrowed in 2025.
