A 23-year-old man with a suspended G1 licence has been charged in a hit-and-run collision in Listowel earlier this week.
Perth OPP had been looking for the driver of a dark grey sedan that crashed at the intersection of Union Street West and Richelieu Avenue South around 2:30 p.m. on Tuesday and kept going. The vehicle's front end was heavily damaged in the incident, but no injuries were reported.
A day later, police released pictures of the suspect vehicle and a description of two people inside, hoping the public could help identify the driver.
On Thursday, a 23-year-old Elmira man was arrested in relation to the crash. He is charged with dangerous driving and three counts of failing to comply with an undertaking. Additionally, he is facing seven other offences including two counts of driving while suspended, and one count each of a class G1 licence holder driving while unaccompanied by a qualified driver, driving without insurance, failing to remain at the scene of a crash, and failing to report a crash.
The man remains in police custody and is scheduled to appear in Stratford court on Friday.
