If you strongly believe in democracy and want to help ensure this fall's municipal elections go off without a hitch, the Town of LaSalle has an opportunity for you.
It's looking for residents interested in applying for a position on the Joint Election Compliance Audit Committee.
The committee is a collaboration with municipalities across Essex County, ensuring the election is carried out with consistency.
"The committee plays an important role in the municipal election process by reviewing requests related to campaign finances for candidates and third-party advertisers. It may also look at reports from the clerk about contributions made during the election," said a release.
Ideal candidates would have accounting or auditing experience, legal professionals, academic professionals with expertise in political science or public administration, and those familiar with campaign finance rules under the Municipal Elections Act.
Those interested in contributing can apply online, and applications will be accepted until Friday, July 17, at 4:30 p.m.
