Two men have been injured after a stabbing in Sarnia.
Police said that officers were called for a report of a disturbance in a basement apartment on Somerset Crescent at 5:20 a.m. on Saturday, January 17.
On scene, officers found a man with a significant stab wound to his upper leg and immediately provided first aid until EMS arrived.
A second man had a cut on his forearm.
Both victims were taken to the hospital in critical condition.
At the hospital, the man with a significant wound was taken into emergency surgery and remains in critical care treatment.
The second victim was given stitches and has been released from the hospital.
The suspect hid behind a car near the scene until a resident noticed the suspicious behaviour and notified the officers on scene.
During a search of the accused, police seized the knife that they believe was used to commit the assault.

A 26-year-old Stratford man has been charged with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, uttering threats to cause bodily harm, aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, assault causing bodily harm, and assault.
He remains in custody, police say the investigators are continuing to gather information.
