Sarnia police charge 3 men after early morning robbery

Three men have been charged with robbery after a distressed 9-1-1 call.

Early Saturday morning, Sarnia police responded to an open line call on Davis Street.

Police allege that dispatchers could hear a woman pleading and saying, "We don't have anything here."

Officers narrowed it down to several homes, but were unable to gauge the exact location.

They immediately responded to the area and began knocking on doors. The call remained active, allowing dispatchers to overhear police banging and calling out, which led them to the right house.

Police immediately entered the home and located a shaken 27-year-old woman and a 30-year-old man. The pair were uninjured and directed the police towards a back room.

After officers made their presence known, three men came out of the room and were taken into custody.

Police say the suspects followed the victims into their home, wearing ski masks and gloves. The trio demanded cash and valuables while threatening the victims with firearms.

The accused attempted to flee the home after police arrived, throwing away their masks, gloves, and firearms. Officers seized the items and identified the firearms as imitations.

The first suspect, a 35-year-old man with no fixed address, has been charged with robbery, break and enter, disguise with intent, weapons dangerous, carrying a concealed weapon, and two counts of breaching probation.

The second suspect, a 36-year-old man with no fixed address, was charged with robbery, break and enter, disguise with intent, weapons dangerous, and carrying a concealed weapon.

The third suspect, a 41-year-old man of Colborne Road in Sarnia, has been charged with robbery, break and enter, disguise with intent, weapons dangerous, carrying a concealed weapon, disobeying a court order, and three counts of possessing a firearm or ammunition contrary to a prohibition order.

The accused were held for their bail hearing, and all three remain in custody.
