Midwestern Ontario well represented on Softball Canada Men's U23 National Team

A number of Midwestern Ontario Athletes will represent Canada at the 2026 WBSC U23 Men’s Softball World Cup.

The tournament will be played April 24 to May 3, in Sincelejo, Colombia.

Included on the roster is Wingham's Riley Good, Alex McGillivray of Durham, Stratford's Danny Scott and Aidan Yarde of Owen Sound.

McGillivray competed for Canada in the 2025 WBSC Americas Pan American Championship, where Canada won silver and qualified for the World Cup. He was also named one of the eight core members of the roster back in November.

Additionally, CKNX's own Steve Sabourin of CKNX Jr. Hockey will be heading to the tournament to call the action on the WBSC livestream for fans.

"We’re excited about the players who have been selected to represent Team Canada at the WBSC U23 Men’s World Cup," stated Canadian U23 Men’s National Team Head Coach Doug Allin. "These athletes have had a tremendous amount of success at the national level and most have previous international experience at the U18 and U23 levels that will be extremely helpful in our chase for a World Cup gold medal."
