Ontario Elite Hockey League announces further expansion

The Ontario Elite Hockey League is further expanding to two more markets for the 2025-26 season.

After recently announcing an expansion to three new markets in late May (Elora, Shelburne, and Tillsonburg), the OEHL has announced it will also be welcoming an additional pair of markets for next season.

The Dunnville Aeros and Elmvale Harvesters will join league play next season.

"Dunnville is an established franchise with strong community roots, and represents the OEHL’s first team based in Haldimand County. Elmvale will play its inaugural season in 2025-26 out of the Elmvale Community Arena," a statemtent from the league said. "The Harvesters name pays tribute to Elmvale’s hockey and farming tradition, carrying on the name of an Intermediate team that played in Elmvale in the 1950s and 60s."

With these two new additions, the OEHL now has 16 member organizations set to play in 2025-26.

"The growth of the OEHL in just two seasons is a testament to the league’s vision of sustainable, competitive small-town hockey," said OEHL Commissioner Rick Richardson. "The future of senior hockey in Ontario has never been brighter."
