The YMCA of Owen Sound Grey Bruce has received a $10,000 grant to its financial assistance program.
The money from the Eva Leflar Foundation will be placed into the charity's strong communities fund, which is used to cover the cost of YMCA programs for individuals and families in need.
“Over the past fiscal year, we provided $187,770 in financial assistance, an amount that continues to grow well beyond the $76,650 we raised through fundraising efforts during the year,” said YMCA Fund Development Manager April McMillan. “This shows just how crucial the strong communities fund is in helping people access programs that support their well-being. We’re incredibly grateful to the Eva Leflar Foundation for their continued support, it’s making a real difference in our community.”
The Eva Leflar Foundation was established in 1990 by lifelong Owen Sound resident Eva Leflar. The foundation has supported local youth over the past three decades through donations to arts, sports and education programs in the region.
