One person is dead and another had to be airlifted to hospital after a vehicle crashed into a hydro pole southeast of Mount Forest.
Emergency crews were called to the collision on Sideroad 5 West between Concession 9 and Highway 6 in Wellington North Township around 1 a.m. on Wednesday.
The 72-year-old driver from Moorefield was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the vehicle was taken to a local hospital before being transferred by air ambulance to a larger facility for treatment of minor injuries, Wellington OPP said.
The investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
The section of Sideroad 5 West remained closed as of 10 a.m. with police stating it would continue to be blocked for several more hours.
