Meaford Scarecrow Invasion hits 30 years

The Meaford Scarecrow Invasion will celebrate its 30th anniversary this fall, and preparations are already underway.

Residents and visitors are invited to take part in upcoming Scarecrow Building Workshops to celebrate the historic milestone.

The annual Scarecrow Invasion Parade and Family Festival will take place on October 2, celebrating this year’s theme: Peace, Love, and Happiness.

Those looking to take part can attend the building workshops all through next month. No experience is necessary and all materials are provided, making it easy for everyone to get involved.

Workshops will be held on June 9, 11, 16, and 18 from 9 a.m. to noon, at the Meaford Rotary Harbour Pavilion.

Participants are invited to bring friends, family, coworkers, or simply come on their own to create a scarecrow for this year’s celebration.
