Stonetown’s Summer Series set to shine

Dust off your sunglasses and mark those calendars because the Stonetown Summer Series is shaping up to be a huge celebration.

The Town of St. Marys is promising a jam-packed lineup of activities designed to keep every member of the family smiling.

The party gets started on Saturday, June 20 at the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Day. Ceremonies will be held to induct Devon White, Stubby Clapp, Kate Psota, Bill Stoneman, Jim Baba, and Paul Runge. The fun continues to flow at the Hall of Fame grounds on Sunday, June 21, when the Rotary Brews and Food Fest takes over the afternoon with the finest Ontario craft brews and a parade of gourmet food truck treats.

July arrives with a patriotic bang at Cadzow Park on the afternoon of July 1, with a huge community hangout to celebrate St. Marys' roots and reflect on the Canadian spirit. The day includes local talent, live music, the iconic Canada Day parade, and enough inflatable fun to keep the kids bouncing until sunset.

For those feeling fast, the Stonetown Triathlon returns on Sunday, July 5, for athletes ready to swim, bike, and run their way to glory or for those who prefer the much less sweaty but equally important job of cheering from the sidelines.

The rest of the month features a fun-filled schedule, with a taste of tradition at the Army and Navy Air Force Bavarian Gardens on July 10 and 11, or step onto the green for a classic round of lawn bowling on July 11.

Grab a blanket for Movies in the Park on July 17 for the ultimate starlit cinema experience, and motorheads can marvel at the chrome and curves at the Lions Club Car Show happening July 18. And the St. Marys Farmers Market is open every Saturday to snag the best local goodies and fresh finds.

The excitement culminates with a massive celebration at the Stonetown Heritage Festival on Saturday, July 25, which is a free downtown bash overflowing with heritage tours, local art, and live tunes. Then the 35th Annual St. Marys Horticultural Garden Tour offers people a chance to wander through local floral masterpieces on July 26.

And the Kinsmen Summerfest will offer high-energy rides and even more live music from July 23 to 26.
