VIDEO: South Bruce OPP officer struck in winter collision

South Bruce OPP are reminding motorists to adjust their driving habits following a collision earlier this month that saw an officer struck by a vehicle.

Police say the crash took place on February 1, 2026 at 9:54 a.m. on Bruce Road 28, between Concession 2 and Huron Bruce Road. The officer was not injured.

Video of the incident was posted on Facebook.

In a message to the public, OPP warn that "rapidly changing winter weather can create dangerous whiteout conditions," noting that "blowing snow can reduce visibility to near zero in seconds."

Officers are urging drivers to slow down and adjust to the road conditions, increase your distance, and use your full lighting system. Police also remind motorists to not travel with hazard lights on, avoid passing snowplows, and be prepared with a winter emergency kit.

The OPP stress that no destination is worth the risk, adding they "want everyone to get home safe."
