South Bruce OPP are reminding the public of the Dog Owners Liability Act (DOLA), after a canine bite was reported in Kincardine.
According to police, on Tuesday around 8:30 a.m., a dog bite was reported at a residence along Kincardine-Kinloss Townline.
Police attended the location with Bruce County Paramedic Services and found two people who had sustained bites from a dog. One of the victims was the owner of the dog.
Both were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
OPP say the dog has been contained, and animal control is assisting with the matter.
No charges have been announced at this time.
Police remind residents that under DOLA, the owner of a dog could be liable if the dog bites or attacks another person or domestic animal. They ask that people ensure they are able to maintain control of their dogs at all times in order to prevent any potential injuries to others or to the dog itself.
