Assault
A 55-year-old man has been charged for allegedly choking another person.
Before 7 a.m. on Tuesday, Chatham-Kent (CK) police were called to a home on Catherine Street in Blenheim for an assault complaint.
According to police, the two had gotten into a verbal argument which escalated when the accused allegedly choked the victim.
The man was reportedly gone when officers arrived, but was later found and arrested.
He's since been charged with assault, assault causing bodily harm, mischief, and theft under $5,000.
Serious Threat
CK police have charged a 50-year-old woman for allegedly threatening to burn down a tent.
It happened around 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday on Irwin Street in Chatham.
Police did not say whether someone was living in the tent.
The woman was arrested and charged with uttering threats to damage property.
Multiple Thefts
Two people are facing multiple theft-related charges after allegedly being caught in the act.
At around 9:20 p.m. on Tuesday, police were called to a business on Grand Avenue East in Chatham for a theft in progress.
According to police, an employee spotted a pickup truck trying to steal a 24-foot flatbed trailer.
Officers arrived before the truck left and arrested a 44-year-old man and a 31-year-old woman.
It was later discovered that a Yamaha Kodiak ATV that was in the bed of the truck at the time had also been stolen.
The man and woman were each charged with theft and possession of property obtained by crime.
