The Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation (CKHAF) is joining the world of artificial intelligence (AI) in a rather unique way.
The organization, with help from tech company Givzey, has created an AI-powered Virtual Engagement Officer.
Named Emma, it's designed to help the foundation's supporters stay connected by sharing updates, answering questions, and providing personalized opportunities to support local healthcare.
"Our donors are at the heart of everything we do, and we are always looking for ways to make their experience with our Foundation more personal, accessible, and meaningful," said Christine Mitchell, president and CEO of the CKHAF.
Emma was first introduced to a group of donors this summer and will now start connecting with supporters by email and text.
"Technology will continue to change how organizations connect with the people they serve, but for us, the purpose remains the same. Every gift begins with a person who cares about healthcare in this community. If we can make it easier for that person to connect with us, learn about the difference they are making and find the opportunities that matter to them, that's a meaningful step forward," added Mitchell.
According to the CKHAF, it's the first healthcare organization and second overall in Canada to create an AI-powered Virtual Engagement Officer.
