Two face charges in convenience store robbery

Windsor Police have arrested two suspects after a violent armed robbery in the city's west end last week.

It happened on the morning of October 28. Two men walked into a convenience store on Mill Street and tried to leave without paying for items.

An employee intervened and was threatened by one suspect with a knife, while another fired a gunshot into the floor.

No one was hurt, and both suspects fled on foot.

Police arrested one suspect on Wednesday afternoon at a home on Askin Avenue, and a short time later, they picked up the second suspect in the Grove Avenue and Rankin Avenue area.

One suspect is charged with robbery with an offensive weapon, and the other also faces charges of recklessly discharging a firearm, possession of a weapon dangerous to the public peace, possession of a firearm without a licence, careless use of a firearm, uttering death threats, and wearing a disguise in the commission of an offence.
