Windsor police are looking for assistance as they investigate a sexual assault from earlier this month.
Officers were called at around 4:30 a.m. on Thursday, October 1, to the area of Wyandotte Street East and Central Avenue, and found a woman in distress.
The woman told police that she accepted a ride from a man driving a newer-model, light-coloured compact SUV near Wyandotte Street East and Marentette Avenue. The man then drove to the parking lot of a business, where he allegedly beat and sexually assaulted her.
The woman was injured after being ejected from the vehicle. The suspect then drove off.
The suspect is described as a light-skinned Middle Eastern male, 20 to 30 years old, 5'4" to 5'5" tall, with a slender build, side-parted hair, clean-shaven, and with a slight accent.
He is wanted on charges of sexual assault, assault, and dangerous driving.
The Child Abuse and Sexual Assault Unit has obtained video footage of the vehicle and is asking the public to give them a call if they recognize it.
Anyone with information should call Windsor police at (519) 255-6700, extension 4903.
