United Way receives major donation from Ford employees

Employees at Ford's Windsor operations donated $484,174.50 to United Way during the last campaign.

The donations support the United Way's programs like On Track for Success and other efforts to end childhood poverty.

“Thank you to our team of canvassers and all our donors for another amazing year of fundraising,” said Neil Wilson, Windsor Operations Site Manager. “Thank you as well to everyone associated with United Way for putting the blood, sweat and tears behind our donations. You truly help bring our donations to life by helping thousands of area residents each and every year in a multitude of ways.”

The donations were gathered through employee donations, 50/50 draws, Ford merchandise sales, special events and corporate giving.

“Education has the power to transform lives, open doors and break the cycle of poverty. This generous donation will help ensure local children and youth have access to the supports, resources, and opportunities they need to learn, grow and achieve their dreams,” said Lorraine Goddard, CEO United Way Windsor-Essex Chatham-Kent. “We are deeply grateful for the continued commitment of Ford Windsor Operations, Unifor Local 200 and Local 240, Leadec Industrial Services and Penske Logistics to creating lasting change where it matters most."
