ENWIN Utilities is warning residents that they may notice a greenish hue to water drained from routine testing of a new water main near Langlois Avenue and Grand Marais Road East.
The utility is testing the Central Corridor Feedermain to ensure it meets the highest standard of safety before it goes into service.
Crews will use National Sanitation Foundation internationally certified, food-grade, non-toxic dye during the testing, explaining the water's greenish colour.
The process will show crew members if there's a leak in the pipe that's supposed to deliver safe, reliable drinking water to residents in Windsor.
ENWIN wants residents to know pressure testing is only being conducted on the new feedermain infrastructure. The feedermain is not connected to the city's water supply, and the system will be flushed and retested before it's put into service.
