This report is titled “Rural Healthcare Excellence: Care Close to Home, Building for the Future,” and it highlights the LWHA's "commitment to strengthening local care, supporting its teams, and building a healthier future for the communities it serves," according to an official release.

Key achievements include the LWHA received Accreditation with Exemplary Standing from Accreditation Canada, the highest rating available through the national accreditation process.

There was also significant enhancements to diagnostic imaging, including the launch of a new CT scanner at Wingham and District Hospital in June 2025 and Bone Mineral Density testing in February 2026.

The completion of the $10 million, two-storey expansion at the Fisher Family Primary Care Centre in Listowel was also pointed to as a major achievement.

"This year’s annual report is really a celebration of our people, our partnerships and the communities that continue to stand behind local healthcare," said Esther Millar, President and CEO, Listowel Wingham Hospitals Alliance. "Across both hospital sites, our teams have shown remarkable focus, compassion, and resilience. Together, we are improving access to care close to home while building the systems, services and culture that will support rural healthcare for years to come."

In 2025/2026, LWHA recorded 25,412 emergency visits, 1,912 surgeries, 30,583 diagnostic imaging visits, 307,308 laboratory tests, 1,906 oncology visits, and 17,249 total patient days.

Additionally, Derek Mendez has been appointed the new Chair of the LWHA Board of Directors.

"It is an honour to step into the role of Board Chair at such an important time for rural healthcare," said Mendez. "On behalf of the Board, I want to thank Stacey for her steady leadership, and Monica and Kailey for their meaningful contributions, and commitment to the communities we serve. LWHA has a strong foundation, a dedicated team and a clear focus on safe, high-quality care close to home. I look forward to working with my fellow Board members, Esther and the leadership team as we continue to support the future of care in Listowel, Wingham and the surrounding region."
