Suspect in bus shelter crash surrenders to Windsor police

Windsor police say a person suspected of crashing into a bus shelter and then taking off has been identified.

A white four-door sedan drove into the glass shelter at around 6:15 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, at the corner of University Avenue and Bruce Avenue.

After the crash, the driver and passenger switched seats. The vehicle then took off northbound on Janette Avenue, with neither the driver nor the passenger reporting the incident.

On Tuesday, police reported that a 22-year-old woman turned herself in at Windsor police headquarters on Friday.

She is charged with careless driving.

The charge has not been proven in court.
