Bruce Power supplier partners recently marked World Hospice and Palliative Care Day by donating $75,000 to Huron Shores Hospice.
World Hospice and Palliative Care Day is observed annually on the second Saturday in October to raise awareness and advocate for improved access to services for individuals with life-limiting illnesses, while supporting quality of life and hospice care around the globe.
“Access to quality health care and strong community supports are essential to building healthy, vibrant communities,” said Maggie Tieman, Bruce Power’s Director of Community and External Affairs. “Through the support of our supplier partners, we're proud to invest in local hospices that provide comfort, dignity and compassionate care for individuals and families during some of life's most challenging moments.”
The funding helps support hospice palliative care operations and programs offered by Huron Shores Hospice in Tiverton.
“World Hospice and Palliative Care Day is an opportunity to celebrate the profound difference hospice palliative care makes in the lives of patients and families,” said Cathy Herbert, Executive Director of Huron Shores Hospice. “We are deeply grateful to Bruce Power Supplier Partners for their long-standing support of our hospice. Their commitment helps ensure compassionate, quality hospice palliative care remains available close to home for individuals and families in our community. Together, we are making moments matter.”
