Perth County OPP were able to assist in raising thousands of dollars and tonnes of food for local food banks during a recent Thanksgiving fundraiser.
On October 3, Perth County OPP officers organized and participated in a 60 kilometre walk from Stratford to Listowel. As officers walked along local roadways en route to Listowel, they were stopping and engaging with members of the public to collect non-perishable food items and monetary donations.
A total of $5,000 was raised, as well as a police cruiser stuffed full of food donations, half of which went to the Salvation Army and the other half to the Monkton Food Bank.
The Perth County OPP would like to thank everyone for their generosity and support during this event and for the positive impact their donations had on the community and many families in need.
