Municipal voting information will arrive in many midwestern Ontario mailboxes this week.
Owen Sound, Saugeen Shores, Huron-Kinloss, and the municipalities of Brockton, Kincardine, and Arran-Elderslie have mailed voter information letters to residents with the credentials needed to vote online or by phone for the 2026 municipal and school board election.
The letters include voting instructions, unique voter credentials, a list of candidates, and voting assistance centre details.
Anyone who doesn't receive a letter by Friday can go to their local municipal office or voting assistance centre for help. Election staff can confirm eligibility, update voter information, add eligible residents to the voters' list, and provide voting credentials.
In Owen Sound, the election centre at Heritage Place Mall will be open from noon until 4 p.m. October 17, 18, 24, 25, and 26. At city hall, election officials will be present from noon to 4 p.m. October 16, October 19 to 23, and October 26.
In Kincardine, the voter help centre is located at 1475 Concession 5.
Brockton residents looking for assistance can go to the voter help centre within the Municipal Office at 100 Scott Street in Walkerton throughout the voting period, and the Cargill Community Centre on October 26.
In Saugeen Shores, the voter assistance centre is located at 600 Tomlinson Drive in Port Elgin.
Huron-Kinloss' voter help centre can be found at the Municipal Office at 21 Queen Street in Ripley. It will be open 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on October 19, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. October 20 to 23, 10 a.m. to 4p.m. October 24 and 25, and from 8:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on October 26.
In Arran-Elderslie, the voter assistance centre will be located at 1925 Bruce Road 10 in Chesley.
Voting for the municipal election opens for most areas on October 19 and continues until 8 p.m. October 26.
