Perth County OPP have a man in custody after a recent vehicle theft in Arthur.
According to police, Perth County OPP officers, alongside members of the Huron-Perth and Wellington Community Street Crime Units (CSCU), and the Repeat Offender Parole Enforcement Unit, assisted with the investigation of a vehicle that was stolen in Arthur on September 21.
On September 23, officers saw the vehicle being driven in Listowel. As a result, a 42-year-old man has been arrested and charged with possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000, possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000, and operation while prohibited.
Officers recovered the vehicle and other stolen property totalling over $25,000, all of which has been returned to the owners.
The accused has been held in custody, scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Stratford on September 29.
