The Northern Tornadoes Project confirmed another downburst that caused damage in midwestern Ontario during powerful storms earlier this month.
A ground and drone survey by the tornado researchers from Western University determined the EF1 downburst hit the Brodhagen area, north of Mitchell around 5 p.m. on September 2.
"Damage was reported to power poles, and several barns, farm outbuildings and grain bins were destroyed. Damage was also reported to several homes, trees, crops and at least one transport truck in the area, the Northern Tornadoes Project stated.
The downburst reportedly had an estimated wind speed of 155 kilometres an hour with a damage path 23 kilometres long and 8 kilometres wide. There were no injuries reported.
A satellite imagery review is still pending.
The same storm system also produced EF0 and EF1 twisters, just minutes apart, in the Tavistock area, an EF1 tornado near Monkton, an EF1 tornado in Wellesley, an EF0 downburst east of Tavistock, and an EF1 downburst in Seaforth.
