The Municipality of Huron East has received funding through the province's Rural Ontario Development (ROD) Program to support local economic development.
Last month, MPP Lisa Thompson annouced the Municipality would receive $14,375 to help initiatives focused on workforce skills development and talent attraction, including growing the Huron East Job and Volunteer Fair and the Skills for Success Program.
"We are excited to receive support through the (ROD) Program, which helps rural municipalities invest in projects that strengthen local economies and create opportunities for future growth," said Taralyn Cronin, Huron East Economic Development Officer. "Funding programs like this allow communities to advance important initiatives that may not otherwise be possible, while helping us remain competitive, resilient, and attractive places to live, work, and invest."
Municipality said the funding will support efforts to strengthen workforce capacity, attract talent, and enhance economic opportunities that contribute to the long-term prosperity of Huron East.
The job fair runs annually in February.
