The Town of Hanover has begun its well improvement project, thanks to provincial funding that was awarded this winter.
Through Ontario's Municipal Housing Infrastructure Program – Health and Safety Water Stream, the Town has secured $1.75 million to improve two aging municipal wells.
Well 1 is located on Airport Road and Well 2 is nearby on Marl Lake Road. Accoridng to a statement from the town, both are essential components of the community's drinking water system, providing potable water to residents and businesses throughout Hanover.
The improvement project aims to extend the life of those assets and ensure their reliability for years to come.
"The Town is committed to protecting Hanover's drinking water future through responsible infrastructure investment and ongoing public engagement," said Mayor Sue Paterson. "We appreciate the Province's support and look forward to keeping residents informed as the project progresses."
