The Grey Bruce OPP have arrested and charged two people and seized nearly $6,000 worth of illicit drugs after a search warrant execution in Meaford.
According to police, a drug trafficking investigation was launched in March, and focused on a residential unit located on Highway 6 and 10 within the Municipality of Meaford.
On May 29, officers with the Grey Bruce Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), Grey Bruce OPP, and West Region OPP Canine Unit executed a search warrant at the residence, where two people were arrested and charged.
Officers recovered quantities of suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, and suspected codeine pills valued at $5,700, as well as offence-related property valued at $1,300.
A 45-year-old and 38-year-old, both Meaford residents, are facing charges that include possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of a weapon.
Both accused were held for a bail hearing in the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on May 29. A court date has not yet been scheduled for the accused to answer to their charges.
