Huron County residents interested in running in the 2026 municipal election are invited to attend a Candidate Information Session next month.
Interested residents can attend the free session on June 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the Libro Community Hall in Clinton. The session is intended to help those interested in running in this year's election or those just looking to learn more about municipal politics.
The session will provide prospective candidates with an overview of the municipal election process, voting methods, the voters’ list, and the role of Huron County Council. Presentations will feature representatives from the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, local municipal clerks, and county staff.
According to a statement on the Huron County website, the session is "being organized collaboratively by clerks from municipalities across Huron County as part of ongoing efforts to support informed participation in local government and encourage community engagement in the democratic process."
