Women's Centre Grey Bruce adopts new name

To better acknowledge the scope of its services and whom it supports, the Women’s Centre Grey Bruce is changing its name.

The organization announced it is rebranding as the Women and Youth Crisis Centre Grey Bruce.

“With the launch of Studio Blue Youth Services, we formally expanded our services to include youth experiencing exploitation and trafficking,” said Executive Director Heather Sheldrick. “This name change reflects that evolution and ensures our organization’s identity aligns with the full scope of supports we now provide.”

Studio Blue Youth Services is for at-risk and trafficked youth and is being offered in addition to the organization's Violence Against Women Emergency Shelter and Second Stage Transitional Housing. The newly launched Community Engagement Centre provides a dedicated space for outreach counselling, volunteer coordination and training, prevention and awareness education, community and partner engagement, and fundraising and donor relations.

The transition to the new name will be conducted in phases over the coming months with new signage, materials and communications. During the transition both the old and new names may be used for clarity in the community.
