West Grey man convicted of sexual crimes against children

A 65-year-old West Grey man has been convicted of several sex crimes carried out over a 13-year span.

According to West Grey police, Norman Boyce was convicted on April 24 of three counts of sexual interference and two counts of making sexually explicit material available to a child.

Boyce was sentenced at Walkerton court to 12 years in custody.

According to police, the offences occurred over an extended period between 2012 and 2025 within the Municipality of West Grey.

Boyce was first arrested October 10, 2021, for the first set of offences and again on June 16, 2025, for the second set.

Along with jail time, Boyce is subject to a 25-year non-association order with the victims, a prohibition on communicating with any person under the age of 16, a 10-year firearms prohibition, and a DNA order.

In a statement, West Grey Police said the investigation required time, resources, and dedication, which reflected the commitment to keeping the community safe.

"The West Grey Police Service acknowledges the strength and courage of the victims involved. Their willingness to come forward was instrumental in advancing this investigation and securing a conviction," read the statement. "Police remain committed to investigating offences of this nature and encourage anyone with information or concerns to contact the West Grey Police Service."
