Municipalities hosting candidate information sessions for upcoming elections

A host of local municipalities in Midwestern Ontario will hold a candidate information session for people thinking of running in this fall's municipal elections.

Saugeen Shores, Huron-Kinloss, South Bruce Peninsula, Kincardine, and Arran-Elderslie will all host the information session next month in preparation for the municipal elections on October 26.

The Town of Saugeen Shores says that the sessions will provide participants with a clear and realistic understanding of what serving as an elected official involves.

Information that will be shared will include how municipal government works, the roles and responsibilities of council members, and the ethical and legal obligations of public office.

The meeting will take place on Thursday, May 14 at 6 p.m. at the Bruce County Administration Centre at 30 Park Street in Walkerton.

The session is free to attend.

This workshop is being delivered in partnership with the County of Bruce, Municipality of Arran-Elderslie, Municipality of Brockton, Town of Saugeen Shores, Township of Huron-Kinloss, Municipality of South Bruce, Municipality of Kincardine, Town of South Bruce Peninsula, and Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula.
