Significant rain forecast Wednesday into Thursday

We're being told to brace for some more rain across the region.

Environment Canada is forecasting 20 to 50 millimetres Wednesday into Thursday as several more rounds of showers and thunderstorms are possible.

This will impact areas including Sarnia-Lambton, Windsor-Essex, Chatham-Kent, London, and into midwestern Ontario.

Rainfall amounts will likely be highly variable, depending on where you are.

The national weather agency said the ground, already near saturation, has a limited capacity to absorb this rainfall.

As parts of the region have already received a significant amount over the last few days, further water could have impacts including flooding.

Rainfall warnings may be issued for some areas.

We're being told water will likely pool on roads and in low-lying areas, and to never drive through flooded roadways.
