A sinkhole has closed a road in Owen Sound, prompting local officials to ask the public to avoid the area for safety.
The OPP shared on "X", formerly Twitter, just after 10 p.m. on Monday night that West Street is closed from Grey Road 17B to Vault Works Road due to a washout/sink hole.
The issue is just south of 172 West Street and is barricaded. There is no emergency access through the barricaded site.
Police are asking residents and drivers to avoid the area as a safety precaution. There is no timetable for repairs.
