A recent Regional Transit Study across Bruce, Dufferin, Grey, and Wellington Counties has prompted a request for resident feedback.
A new survey is available until April 14 to give residents in the area an opportunity to offer more feedback on the recent study regarding rural transit needs.
The study looked into the potential of a unified transit network in the region, and whether such a network is possible. It also looked at factors like growing populations, aging demographics, and rising costs that are increasing the need for public transit solutions.
Things like transit corridors that serve all four counties, expanded on-demand and specialized transit, integration with existing transit systems like GO and Owen Sound Transit, and private sector partnerships were looked at in the study.
The new survey is asking if some of these possibilities would reflect public priorities when it comes to transit solutions in the region. Results will inform the recommended plan, which will be presented to County Councils in May 2026.
The survey is available online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Round2-CommunityEngagement until April 14. For more information about the Regional Transit Study, visit grey.ca/regional-transit.
Paper copies of the survey are available at the four county administration buildings and some public libraries.
