The Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate after an individual in police custody went into medical distress Tuesday morning.
Huron County OPP arrested the individual on outstanding warrants and brought them to the Clinton detachment.
According to OPP, around 1:30 a.m., they went into medical distress and were transported by ambulance to a local hospital.
The province's police watchdog has invoked its mandate and Huron County OPP says it will not be able to provide further information.
