Huron County Pride will bring a dose of laughter to the region this spring with two Spring Fling Comedy evenings planned for Exeter and Goderich.
The events will showcase queer comedic talent in an age-of-majority setting, offering a relaxed night out filled with humour and community connection.
The comedy series gets underway Friday, March 20, at Imposter Brewing Company in Exeter, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and the show starting at 8 p.m. The following night, Saturday, March 21, the laughs move to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 109 in Goderich, with the same door and show times. Tickets are available in advance through Eventbrite, priced at $15 until February 28 and $20 after that date. Huron County Pride notes that the events are made possible with the support of Community Futures Huron.
Huron County Pride says the Spring Fling Comedy events are about more than laughs, offering a welcoming space for people to gather, connect, and enjoy live entertainment close to home.
Headlining the weekend is Steve Degay, a high-energy performer known for blending stand-up comedy with music and an unapologetically bold stage presence. His shows combine sharp jokes, guitar-driven bits, and a throwback rock-and-roll flair that plays just as well in small towns as it does in big cities.
Jenna MacAskill brings a playful, offbeat style that leans into the absurdities of everyday life. A familiar name to audiences at the Guelph Comedy Festival, MacAskill’s humour is fast-paced, irreverent, and rooted in personal storytelling that keeps crowds laughing from start to finish.
Toronto-based comedian and actress Kari Johnson adds a mix of observational comedy and imaginative perspectives. With appearances at major comedy festivals and work spanning stand-up and film, her material draws on identity, mental health, and the quirks of modern life.
Rounding out the lineup is Aidan O’Loughlin, an award-winning comedian and television writer whose stand-up has appeared on OutTV. Beyond the stage, O’Loughlin has written for a wide range of high-profile performers and Canadian television productions, bringing a polished, industry-honed voice to the weekend.
