Georgian Bluffs accepting registration for burn permits for 2026

The Township of Georgian Bluffs is now accepting applications for 2026 burn permits.

Staff with the township and the Inter-Township Fire Department are reminding residents that burn permits must be renewed annually.

All active permits expired on December 31, 2025, and a valid 2026 permit is required before any open-air burning takes place.

Permits are free, available online 24/7, and only take a few minutes to complete.

Previous permit owners need only to log in to their online account and reconfirm their residential information to receive a 2026 burn permit.

Burn permits are required for all open-air fires, including fire pits, outdoor fireplaces, brush burning, bonfires, and controlled agricultural burns.

To renew your free burn permit for 2026, visit georgianbluffs.burnpermits.com. Fire safety guidelines and a summary of the Open-Air Burn By-law are available at www.georgianbluffs.ca/fire.
