A theft of a safe containing a large coin collection from a home near Goderich is being investigated by police.
According to the Huron County OPP, on November 8, 2025 just after 6 a.m., police responded to a break-and-enter that was in progress at a residence several kilometres south of Goderich.
Officers arrived on-scene and found evidence of a break-in at an outbuilding on the property, but the suspects had left the area already.
Video surveillance from that morning showed two suspects and a vehicle on the victim's property.
The thieves stole a tan-coloured safe approximately four feet in height, weighing over 300 pounds. Inside the safe was an expansive coin collection including coins from all over the world. Numerous Canadian Mint coin sets in packages were part of the collection.
The suspect vehicle is described as a newer model dark-coloured SUV with chrome rims and a trailer hitch receiver.
