The Grey Bruce OPP is accepting applications for the 2026 Youth Policing Initiative.
This annual initiative is a paid summer employment program which offers youth aged 15-18 the chance to "develop leadership skills, gain hands‑on experience, and build positive connections within their community," according to an OPP media release.
The program this year will run for eight weeks throughout July and August, with participants working up to 40 hours per week.
In the program, youth will be introduced to different areas of policing, including community engagement.
Applicants must be 15 to 18 years old by summer 2026, be currently enrolled in secondary school, be legally eligible to work in Canada, successfully complete the recruitment and background clearance process and be a resident of the Grey Bruce OPP‑policed area.
Any youth interested in applying must also submit a resumé and a short essay no longer than 1,000 words describing how they would benefit from the program.
