Burger brand recalled after tests uncover E.coli

The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) is asking people to check their freezers for a specific brand of beef burger.

Following test results by the CFIA, Loblaws has recalled No Name Brand Beef Burgers, due to the possibility of E.coli contamination.

No Name products are a generic brand sold at Loblaws markets, including Zehrs, Great Canadian Superstore, and others.

"Food contaminated with E.coli may not look or smell spoiled, but can still make you sick," read the recall notice. "Symptoms can include nausea, vomiting, mild to severe abdominal cramps, and watery to bloody diarrhea."

No illnesses have been reported due to the consumption of this product. The CFIA is conducting a food safety investigation, which may lead to additional recalls.

If you have this product, do not cook or consume it. Throw it out or return it to the store for a refund.

If you believe you have become ill after consuming a recalled product, contact your healthcare provider.

The recall identification number is RA-81475.
