Imitation guns, drugs seized from home near Mitchell

One person is facing charges after imitation guns and more than $7,800 worth of drugs were seized during a raid at a home in West Perth.

OPP officers searched the home near Mitchell on Wednesday. Inside they reportedly found cocaine, methamphetamine, and Xanax, as well as four imitation firearms.

A West Perth resident was arrested. That individual is charged with three counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking and one count each of possession of drugs and failure to comply with probation. The accused was scheduled to appear in Stratford court in relation to the charges on Friday.

"The seizure of controlled substances such as cocaine and methamphetamine directly contributes to enhanced public safety," said Perth OPP Detachment Commander Tyler Stewart. "Combating drug trafficking remains a key enforcement priority in Perth County, and I encourage community members to report suspicious activity to Perth County OPP or the Crime Stoppers Program."
