Arson incident in Goderich results in charges

An arson incident in Goderich has resulted one person being charged.

According to Huron County OPP, officers responded on December 12 to a report of an arson caught on video surveillance in the early morning hours outside a business on Bayfield Road in Goderich.

The video showed one person lighting a cardboard box on fire, with another person emerging from the box, just managing to avoid injury.

Officers located the person responsible and charged a 29-year-old of no fixed address with arson disregard for human life, mischief endangering life, assault with a weapon and fail to comply with probation.

The accused was processed and held for a bail hearing where they were remanded into custody with a later court appearance scheduled at the Ontario Court of Justice in Goderich.
