Brockton Mayor Chris Peabody has been honoured for serving 25 years on Brockton Council.
Mayor Peabody has been awarded the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing’s Long-Standing Service Award.
Originally elected to Brockton Council in 2000, Peabody served five consecutive terms as a councillor before being elected mayor for his first term in 2018. He ios currently serving his second mayoral term.
Also, he represented the region as Warden of Bruce County from 2023 to 2024.
Peabody joined council following the amalgamation of the former Township of Brant, Township of Greenock, and Town of Walkerton, as well as in the aftermath of the Walkerton Water Crisis.
With his strong advocacy and environmental background, Mayor Peabody has spearheaded numerous local clean water initiatives. He also led the municipality through the challenging times of the COVID-19 pandemic, and has served on countless boards and committees to benefit the community.
