Police in Huron County say a teenager has been charged after online threats were made about a high school shooting in Wellington County.
The Ontario Provincial Police report the threats were made on the night of Friday, September 12. Officers were called just before 9 p.m. and investigators were able to quickly identify and locate a suspect. An arrest was made a few hours later.
A 17-year-old from Howick Township is now facing a charge of uttering threats to cause bodily harm or death. Due to the Youth Criminal Justice Act, the accused's name cannot be disclosed.
The teen has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court in Goderich on October 2, 2025.
