Bruce County highlights Smart Commute Month

September is Smart Commute Month in Bruce County, encouraging residents to explore alternatives to driving alone.

The county is inviting residents to complete a short survey at brucecounty.smartcommute.ca for a chance to win one of five local gift cards. Lunchtime webinars on safe winter driving, mid-day movement, and micromobility devices are also being offered, each with a chance to win a $25 gift card.

"Smart Commute Month is a great opportunity for individuals and organizations to rethink how they travel," says Claire Dodds, Commissioner of Community Development.

The Smart Commute platform connects drivers and passengers going in the same direction, helping reduce single-occupancy vehicles, lower emissions, save on fuel and parking, and foster community connections. Local businesses are also being encouraged to join the program.
